The shock absorber mounting (suspension strut support bearing) is the upper attachment/pivotal point between the shock absorber and chassis. It supports the vehicle weight, enables a steering of the spring strut and prevents the penetration of vibrations and noises into the chassis.

By callibrating the characteristic curve the performacne and comfort can be strongly infuenced.

The shock absorber mounting is exposed to strong demands and influences of the weather and therefore it is among the wear and tear parts.

The consequences of a defect are perceptible:
